Mexico YMCA Mid-Mo Marlins Swim Team
An Aquatic Program of the Mexico Area Family YMCA.

The Mexico YMCA Mid-MO Marlins Swim Team is open to any youth, Kindergarten – 12th grade. To join the team we ask that your child be able to swim 25 yards freestyle (front crawl), 25 yards backstroke, 25 yards breaststroke, and 25 yard butterfly – unassisted – and also be able to tread water for 30 seconds.

The swim team is divided into three levels based on a set pace. The levels are: Bronze (beginner), Silver (intermediate), and Gold (advanced).

Swim Team encourages self-discipline, perfects competitive strokes, develops positive self-esteem, and also builds friendships. To be eligible to join the swim team you are required to be a member of the Mexico Area Family YMCA during the winter season. There are Swim Team tryouts in early Spring and late Summer (call the YMCA at 573-581-1540 for specific dates and times).
