Seven Mexico YMCA Mid-Mo Marlins compete in the Second Annual Penguin Plunge Invitational

Seven Mexico YMCA Mid-Mo Marlins competed in the Second Annual Penguin Plunge Invitational Swim Meet held at the Four Rivers Area Family YMCA at Washington, Missouri, October 14-15, 2016. There were 326 swimmers competing from Illinois and Missouri. The Marlins ranked 10th out of 16 teams.

Julia Goerne (5), swam in the 8 & under girls age group. Julia swam and did her very best. There were 29 swimmers in her age group.

Abbigale Cloven (10), swam in the 9-10 girls age group. Abbigale swam and did her very best. There were 46 swimmers in her age group.

Brixton Goerne (9), swam in the 9-10 boys age group. Brixton received a second place medal in the 200 yard freestyle, a third place medal in the 50 yard butterfly, and a fifth place ribbon in the 50 yard backstroke. There were 25 swimmers in his age group. He made 47 points for the team.

Aaliyah Jaramillo (14), swam in the 13-14 girls age group. Aaliyah swam and did her very best. There were 20 swimmers in her age group.

Reese Toalson (14), swam in the 13-14 girls age group. Reese received a second place medal in the 50 yard freestyle, and a fourth place ribbon in the 200 yard individual medley. There were 20 swimmers in her age group. She made 32 points for the team.

Drew Hibbs (13), swam in the 13-14 boys age group. Drew received a first place medal in the 100 yard breaststroke, a second place medal in the 1000 yard freestyle, and third place medals in the 200 yard individual medley, the 200 yard freestyle, and the 50 yard freestyle. There were 16 swimmers in his age group. He made 85 points for the team.

Jake Bell (17), received the first place trophy for over-all winner in the 15-18 age group. He also received first place medals in the 1650 yard freestyle (the mile), the 200 yard individual medley, the 200 yard freestyle, and the 100 yard breaststroke. He also received a second place medal in the 100 yard butterfly. There were 10 swimmers in his age group. He made 97 points for the team.
